ANTHONY ROAD WINE COMPANY TO HOLD 2ND ANNUAL FEDERWEISSER CELEBRATION OVERLOOKING SENECA LAKE

German Winemaker Johannes Reinhardt Presents His Latest Federweisser

PENN YAN, NY, August 27, 2002 -- Anthony Road Wine Company, a family owned and operated winery on the beautiful Seneca Lake, will hold it’s 2nd Annual Federweisser Celebration on Saturday, September 21st, from 11:00am-5:00pm. The public is invited to enjoy hours of German inspired festivities and taste winemaker, Johannes Reinhardt’s latest batch of Federweisser.

Building upon the success of last year’s event, Anthony Road’s 2002 Federweisser Celebration is a festival not to be missed. Syracuse’s popular Fritz’s Polka Band will provide entertainment throughout the day, while visitors can feast on traditional German foods including bratwurst and homemade onion pie – made from a special family recipe.

For only $5.00, visitors receive a commemorative Federweisser pilsner glass and two tickets that can be used towards food and drinks throughout the day. Additional food and drink (wine or soda) tickets can be purchased at Anthony Road on the day of the celebration.
Federweisser (pronounced fay-der-vice-er) is a deliciously sweet, frothy, partially fermented white grape beverage that is a popular basis for festivities in Germany. It’s Johannes Reinhardt’s German roots - he’s a native of Neuses am Berg, Germany - that make Anthony Road’s Federweisser a beverage worthy of it’s own celebration. Not quite wine, yet a little more "potent" than juice, Federweisser is absolutely delicious!

About Anthony Road Wine Company
Located along the upper-Western shores of Seneca Lake, 12 miles south of Geneva, in the heart of the Finger Lakes, Anthony Road Wine Company’s philosophy continues
to be to produce excellent wines for "The Everyday Enjoyment of Life" from local quality fruit.

From vineyards planted in 1973, Anthony Road Wine Company (ARWC) began production with the help of family and friends in 1989 in a small barn owned by Ann and John Martini. Since then, ARWC has expanded significantly while still being family-owned and operated. In fact, the Martini’s children are involved in many significant aspects of the company from the grape growing to wine tastings. Today, using European techniques, ARWC is a grower and producer of fine, award winning wines. These wines include major vinifera varietals (Chardonnay, Riesling, and Cabernet Franc) French-American hybrid grapes (Vignoles), as well as several blended wines. The winery has a unique Tasting Room, a new, state-of the art wine processing facility and beautifully landscaped gardens. A true self-contained "grape-to-bottle" operation, all winemaking, bottling, labeling, and storage are handled on-site.
